Dorothy Meacock Rules

Each club can enter one couple for the above event.

The cost of entry is £10 paid via bank transfer or cheque made payable to MLCGA - please quote the club name and the Dorothy Meacock Foursomes.

It is suggested that each participating club hold an 18-hole stableford foursomes’ round and winners are eligible to represent their club in this County inter-club match play event. The handicap allowance for the qualifying round is ½ the combined course handicap but with a maximum ½ combined handicap of 36.

This competition is open to all MEMBERS of GOLF CLUBS IN MONMOUTHSHIRE.

Members should not enter this competition if there is any doubt that they may not be able to play by the end dates of each round or if they will not be available to play on the date of the Semi Final and Final.

Either the club secretary or lady’s secretary should enter the names and contact details of the persons representing their club. The qualifying names should be entered on-line via the website or if necessary, send the details of the qualifiers to:

Mrs Angela Poulton, 41 Glan Rhyd, Coed Eva, Cwmbran. NP44 6TY

A draw for each match play round will be undertaken by the County and sent to the players and posted on the website.

The handicap for the match play rounds is half of the difference between the combined handicaps of either side.

Teams on the top of each draw will have home advantage unless their club is unable to accommodate them by the play-by date in which case the match will be played at the opponents’ club.

The venue for the semi-finals and the final will be arranged at a neutral venue by the County. The semi finals will be played in the morning and the finals in the afternoon. There will be no play off for third and fourth place, the vouchers allocated to these places will be shared by these competitors.

The players are responsible for organising the games but if adjudication is required, they must contact the County Captain at least 7 days before the end date.
